Is Smoking Pot Better Than Eating It?
There are many ways to enjoy marijuana, but smoking it and eating it are still the two most common methods to enjoy pot. The two techniques bring different effects, the method of choice being a matter of preference. Here is how inhaling and ingestion are different:
- How long the effects take to appear– when marijuana is smoked, the compounds in it pass through the lungs and take shorter to get into the bloodstream and attach the receptors in the brain, while in the case of consuming marijuana in edible form, the compounds are absorbed in the digestive system first and take longer to reach the receptors;
- The duration of the effects – the effects might take shorter when marijuana is smoked, but they also wear off faster. The high experienced with edible marijuana is usually milder, but it takes much longer than in the case of inhaled pot;
- Side effects – smoking marijuana might have adverse effects similar to those of smoking, such as coughing and the irritation of airways. Eating marijuana, on the other hand, is not known to cause any irritation in the digestive tract, therefore marijuana in edible form is more suitable for those who don’t like, don’t want to or cannot smoke.
Go to a reputable Pueblo marijuana dispensary, and talk to employees, look at what is marketed, and make a decision that seems right for you.
